Pediatric Dentistry

At The Danna Smile we create a friendly, fun, and social atmosphere so your children will start to have positive experiences as we work to protect their teeth and help them develop healthy oral hygiene habits.

We understand that many children are nervous about seeing the dentist, and we do everything we can to make sure they find their “dental home” as early as possible.

How We Can Help

As pediatric dentists, our job is to provide a number of services that support your child’s overall health and hygiene while creating an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. Our goal is to help our younger patients understand how proper care and maintenance of their teeth (even their baby teeth) is critical to ongoing dental health.

Some of the important functions and services we provide include:

  • Education– We can use dental models, computers and child-friendly terminology to show your children how important it is to keep their teeth strong and healthy. We can also advise you on things like disease prevention, trauma prevention, good eating habits, and other ways to encourage a healthy home hygiene routine.
  • Prevention– It’s important to establish sound eating and oral care habits to reduce the chances of tooth decay. To that end, we provide checkups, dental cleanings, sealants applications, and topical fluoride to young teeth. We’ll also consult on thumb-sucking/pacifier questions, and provide demonstrations of brushing and flossing techniques.
  • Monitoring growth– We’ll keep a close eye on growth and development to anticipate dental issues and quickly intervene before they get worse. This means we can also provide earlier corrective treatments which can help foster a more positive self-image.
  • Intervention– If it becomes necessary, we will discuss the possibility of early oral treatments with you. This might be in the case of oral injury, malocclusion (bad bites), or bruxism (teeth grinding). Treatment in these cases may include space maintainers, a nighttime mouth guard, or reconstructive surgery.
