Composite Fillings

At The Danna Smile we use a tooth-colored composite material for your fillings so you can take care of any cavities while maintaining your bright, beautiful smile. This composite can be used to repair decayed areas of the teeth, cracks, fractures, and more.

Cavities are one of the most common dental problems that people experience. They can be painful at times, and if they’re not caught early enough, they can cause significant damage to your teeth. But it’s also important to remember that you may not feel anything at all until it is too late, which is just one more reason your regular dental appointment so important. We can spot potential problems before they get out of hand.

We use composite fillings to because they have the most aesthetic benefits while still providing the same reliability and durability that is normally associated with silver amalgam fillings.

Still, like many other cosmetic dental restorations, there will come a time when these fillings have to be replaced. We will keep an eye on them at your regular checkups and let you know if there are any concerns. We’ll also give you the information you need to maintain these fillings for as long as possible.

The Filling Process

A filling only requires a single appointment to complete (though if you are in need of several fillings, we may recommend breaking it up into more than one treatment).

We’ll start by numbing the tooth so we can remove all of the decay in the tooth. We can then clean out the newly created hole and prepare it for the filling. The composite filling will then be placed, shaped, and polished to make sure you get an aesthetically pleasing finish that is durable enough to stand up to normal eating.

It is possible that you may experience a little extra sensitivity to hot and cold when the fillings are still new, but that shouldn’t last too long.

After they’re placed, you’ll need to continue caring for your teeth with regular, good hygiene practices. We can answer any questions you have to make sure you get the treatments you need. Contact us today to set up your appointment.
