Dentures & Partial Dentures
Dentures have come a long way from the appliances that your great grandparents wore. Modern dentures are removable appliances that can be used to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. At The Dana Smile we can provide solutions that are very durable and look just like your natural teeth.
Dentures are an effective way to restore and enhance your smile, and in order to deliver the best results, we offer both complete and partial dentures.
Complete Dentures – This is the option we use when all of the teeth are missing. These may either be “conventional” or “immediate.” Conventional dentures are made after the teeth and gums have healed while immediate dentures are made in advance so they can be placed right after the teeth have been removed.
Partial Dentures – These appliances are used to fill spaces between your teeth, when you have lost several teeth (but not all) in an arch. It is an effective option to prevent other teeth from shifting and allow you to continue eating and speaking normally.
The materials used in these dentures are extremely durable and will last for years, but there may be times when they need to be readjusted or repaired.
Getting Dentures that Fit Perfectly
There are several steps to getting the best dentures for your situation. As with many other restorative procedures, we will start with detailed impressions of your teeth. We will use that data to create the custom dentures that fit perfectly in your mouth. In some cases, there may need to be a couple visits to make sure that everything looks and feels great.
Many people do experience increased saliva flow and a little soreness when they first receive dentures, and speaking and chewing may be a little trying for a while. However, as your muscles get used to the appliance, these feelings will eventually go away.
We’ll make sure you understand how to properly care for your new dentures because effective cleanings and good oral hygiene will help the appliances last longer and feel more comfortable.
