Porcelain Fixed Bridges
A dental bridge is an effective option for replacing missing teeth, especially when your situation is not conducive to implants. At The Danna Smile, we will work closely with you to determine your best options and make sure you get the results you want.
A fixed bridge is non-removable, which means that it is an excellent way to replace a missing tooth. It is solid and secure, so you can still eat and speak much like you normally would. The porcelain materials we use looks just like your natural teeth, so this solution is both aesthetic and functional.
How Dental Bridges Work
A dental bridge is made up of two crowns that go over two of your natural teeth. These are called abutment teeth and they’re used to anchor the bridge in place. The artificial tooth (or teeth) fill the gap between those crowns, restoring the structure of your mouth back to normal.
Much like the procedure for dental crowns, some of the surface of the abutment teeth will have to be removed and prepared for the bridge. We can then make a detailed impression of your teeth so we can create a custom bridge that fits perfectly in mouth.
We’ll make sure to check the bridge and make any adjustments before it is cemented into place. In some cases, it may even be necessary to use a temporary cement to give your other teeth and soft tissues time to get used to the new bridge.
These bridges are extremely durable and will last for years with proper care. There may, however, may need to be re-cemented occasional due to normal wear and tear.
